Perspective 3D, powered by Reality Capture Experts, in collaboration with Apollo 3D, proudly celebrates the accomplishments of Strive F1, the student-led team from Grantham College & University Centre, following their impressive debut at the UK Finals of the F1 in Schools STEM Racing competition, held at Magna Science Park.
Collaboration and Innovation at Grantham College
The Strive F1 team’s success is not just a testament to their engineering prowess, but also to the incredible collaboration across Grantham College’s departments:
- Business T Level student Kai stepped up as Team Project Manager, bringing vital business and leadership skills to drive the project forward.
- Engineering Year 1 & 2 T Level students supported with CAD design, concept sketches, materials selection, and hands-on manufacturing.
- Construction students contributed to the design and fabrication of the team’s pit display—ensuring it met competition specs while showcasing innovation and craftsmanship.
- Art & Design students created clay prototype models that supported car design and refinement.
- Media and Business students produced interactive video game content for the pit display, ensuring that the team’s booth exceeded the competition’s scoring criteria and helped tell their story in an engaging way.
A Strong Debut on the Track
The Strive F1 team’s car consistently clocked some of the fastest times during the event, finishing just 0.01 seconds off the top speed and placing an impressive 9th out of 32 teams in their very first national appearance—surpassing many long-established competitors.
