Vrbo now accepts Matterport virtual tour links directly in property descriptions, making it easier for vacation rental owners to share immersive 3D walkthroughs with potential guests. By adding a Matterport Showcase link to a listing, property owners can allow travelers to explore the layout, rooms, and amenities of a rental before booking.

This update simplifies how Matterport tours are shared on Vrbo. Instead of using older export methods, property owners can now place a direct link to their Matterport virtual tour within the listing description, giving guests immediate access to the interactive walkthrough. For Perspective 3D clients, this means your 3D tour can now support your Vrbo marketing more directly and help potential guests explore your property before they book.

If you manage a vacation rental in Michigan or anywhere else, potential guests often want a clearer view of the space before making a booking decision.A Matterport tour helps them understand the layout, flow, and feel of the property in a way still photos cannot.

Why this matters for vacation rental owners

A Matterport virtual tour for Vrbo gives guests a way to walk through the property online before they reserve. That added visibility can help your listing stand out and reduce uncertainty during the booking process.

  • Helps guests understand the layout before booking
  • Increases engagement on your Vrbo listing
  • Builds trust with potential renters
  • Helps your property stand out in a competitive market

For Michigan vacation rental owners, this can be especially valuable in seasonal markets where guests compare multiple listings quickly and want more confidence before making a reservation.

How to add your Matterport tour to your Vrbo listing

If Perspective 3D has already created a Matterport tour for your property, adding it to Vrbo is straightforward.

  1. Make sure your Matterport model is set to Public or Unlisted.
  2. Copy your Matterport Showcase link.
  3. Paste that link into your Vrbo property description.

That is now the recommended way to share your Matterport tour on Vrbo.

Important change from the previous Vrbo integration

If you have used Matterport for a while, you may remember the older method of sharing tours through the Add Ons tab and panoramic image export workflow. That method is no longer the supported path for Vrbo listings.

According to Matterport, the correct method now is to place your Showcase link directly in the property description. The older add-on tile may remain visible until March 16, 2026, but property owners should begin using the direct link method now.

What happens if you update your Matterport tour later?

Once your Matterport Showcase link is in your Vrbo listing, updates made inside your Matterport model will automatically be reflected when guests open the tour.

That means you can make adjustments such as:

  • Changing the start position
  • Hiding extra scans
  • Refining what guests see first

If you ever want to remove the tour from your Vrbo listing, simply remove the link from the property description.

How Perspective 3D helps vacation rental owners

Perspective 3D creates Matterport virtual tours for vacation rentals, helping property owners present their spaces more clearly online.

Our clients use 3D tours to support marketing across Vrbo, direct booking websites, and other property promotion channels. For vacation rental owners in Michigan, a professional virtual tour can make it easier to showcase cabins, lake homes, short-term rentals, and seasonal properties to out-of-town guests.

If you already have a tour from our team, we can help you locate your Showcase link and make sure you are using it correctly in your listing.
